I am fifteen and have been on a strict but healthy diet for the last six months or so. I reached a healthy weight that i was happy with and have managed to maintain it for a few months however, for the last few weeks i have recurrently been binge eating and i can’t seem to control myself- how can i get my health back on track before i gain back all the weight and my binge eating gets even more out of control?
I have been having almost the same problem, I went vegan and began running doing yoga and kickboxing and lost about 50lbs. I think it may be because i deprived myself of things i loved like chocolate, and snack foods like chips and i hardly ate any fat. Try to keep cut up fruits and fill yourself up with that. Its worth a try im trying that starting today. I have been struggling with binge eating for months and i gained 14 lbs in one week. I eat until i am uncomfortably full and almost in pain. Its so ridiculous but hard to control. Let me know if u make any progress, good luck and ur not alone in ur struggle

One of the biggest roadblocks to weight/fat loss lies in the failure to control the appetite and food cravings. Even if you basically eat a healthy diet, you will fail to lose weight if you are consuming too many overall calories. Not to mention the fact that many people are able to eat properly all day long, only to have their weight/fat loss efforts derailed by late-day cravings for sweets, causing the infamous nighttime binge out. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if someone were able to develop a product containing a natural substance that can kill the appetite, voraciously attack fat along with diet and exercise, and destroy carbohydrate cravings, all while increasing energy, with no known side effects? Well guess what…your prayers have been answered as VPX is proud to release yet another world-beating innovation into the sports supplementation arena with Dietex! The Dietex formula is based around a rare botanical that grows deep inside the African Kalahari desert. This medicinal herb, called Hoodiax (pronounced who-dee-ax), has been proven to cause massive weight loss in two double blind South African studies with rats and strikingly similar results of powerful appetite suppression and weight loss in human beings in Europe. Hoodiax is 10,000 times more biologically active than glucose to induce the release of brain chemicals and hormonal responses that control hunger. By controlling these chemicals, DIETEXâ„¢ is instrumental in reducing and even totally eliminating the desire for food. While Hoodiax alone is simply amazing at controlling the appetite, VPX decided to combine it with another incredible compound called Sceletix (pronounced Skell-leet-ix). Sceletix acts as a serotonin re-uptake inhibitor to make you feel great even though you have eaten far less than you normally do. The actions of Sceletix also balance brain chemicals to control food addictions. Because Dietex fools your brain into believing you are full and totally eliminates
I know "binging" is bad for you. I claim that I'm a health freak, which in turn causes me to occasionally come to a point of nutritional insanity in which I compleatly binge late at night, mainly on ridiculous amounts of fruit loops and peanut butter sandwhiches. So here's my request…could someone please lay out for me, the negative effects on binge eating, and what it does to your body(in terms of sugar levels, blood pressure, anything like that). Please please be as graphic as possible. I find I keep myself healthy by seeing things like icing as diabetes, and french fries as a heart attack. Please help scare me away frm binge eating with some graphic explaination of what eating a lot, quickly does to the body. Thanks a heap!
Remember Linda Carpenter, she died in her early twenties from binge eating, she caused herself to throw up so much, she had an electrolyte imbalance and died of a heart arrhythmia. Sweetheart, I don't think grossness in the manner of death will help you. Your obviously intelligent, and from your question it's obvious your no stranger to what binge eating does to ones body. I strongly suggest you seek medical/mental intervention, an eating disorder cannot be cured via yahoo answers, oh I wish it could. But lets get serious, we can offer advice, tell you the consequences, which again you already know. It's going to take professional help, intervention, dedication, therapy, guts, and determination. But YOU CAN DO IT. NOW GETTY UP AND GO AND GET HELP. Thanks for the opportunity to address your question.

I used to be super skinny and restricted myself from everything I loved to eat for two years. Now food is a huge problem for me, and I can binge up to 5000 calories in one sitting.
I am sharing very personal things but I want people to know what it’s like and how it’s ruining my life.

Ever wonder if you have a serious problem with binge eating?
In the Harvard Mental Health Letter, I read a feature article
about the treatment of bulimia and binge eating.
Bulimia is defined as 2 or more episodes of binge eating
(consuming a large amount of food in 2 hours or less) at least
twice a week for 3 months. These episodes may be followed by
vomiting or purging (with laxatives or diuretics) and may
alternate with fasting and compulsive exercising.
People who suffer from bulimia often view this behavior as a
shameful secret.
Binge Eating Disorder (binging that is not followed by vomiting,
fasting or exercise) has gotten more attention recently since it
is being considered for inclusion as a psychiatric diagnosis.
The criteria are tentatively listed as “a condition that causes
serious distress with at least 3 of the following symptoms
occurring at least 2 days a week for 6 months:
â¢eating very fast â¢eating until uncomfortably full â¢eating when
not hungry â¢eating alone â¢feeling disgusted or guilty afterward
Since most of the population has probably engaged in these
eating behaviors at one time or another, I guess it comes down
to the frequency and severity of the problem.
You can be a binge eater, but you would have to be binging quite
regularly to be considered to have Binge Eating Disorder.
Many people engage in some of these behaviors all the time.
People who live alone often eat alone.
And while eating when you aren’t hungry is not the most
satisfying experience, sometimes it is just an ingrained habit.
You do not have to be overweight to be a binge eater.
Many people with binge eating problems think they are overweight
or are worried that they will become seriously overweight.
Dieting does not necessarily stop the binging and is often
viewed as being part of the problem rather than the solution.
The body resists dieting by slowing metabolism and increasing
appetite, commonly accompanied by an intense preoccupation with
food, more binging, anxiety and depression.
If you are struggling with bulimia or severe binge eating
problems, seek help and get the support you deserve.
Don’t keep it a secret.
You do not need to be heroic and suffer alone.
If you engage in some of the binge eating behaviors, join the
club and keep reading . . .
You can learn to change all of these behaviors, even mild to
moderate binge eating by listening to your body, eating
mindfully and being kind to yourself.
